Recent work includes a 2003 Unimog U400 with 255,000km under its belt suffering from a misfire.

Investigations using an endoscope concluded that there had been piston failure in one cylinder and the best option for the customer was a Genuine Mercedes Benz exchange engine. As the engine was intact without external damage a high exchange value was achieved helping reduce costs. 

Mercedez benz Unimog exchange engines are value for money given the engines come with fuel injection system, turbocharger, air compressor and ECU already fitted eliminating any later failings of these components. All genuine replacement engines are backed up with a 1 year Mercedes Benz warranty.  

When we removed the engine it exposed a burnt wiring harness that was running down the chassis rail. This was a breakdown waiting to happen so we took the opportunty to repair the damage. This needed the affected areas cutting out and remaking before being re-sleeved and heat reflective material applied to prevent future damage.
